Capturing A Perfect World

Hello! My name in Christine Cope and I am a photographer living in northeast Ohio. I am fortunate to live only minutes away from Mosquito Lake State Park. Please don't let the name throw you! The lake is full of inspiration with all of the beauty that surround its shores . There are excellent opportunities to capture landscapes, birds, wildlife, flowers, plants, and more.  Most of the current photographs on this website are part of a project inspired by this wonderful area so close to my home.

A few years ago, I set out on a journey to explore and expose the raw beauty of the lake that never ceases to surprise me. Through the years it has given me so much that I wanted to give back in some way. I have always had a passion for photography so I decided to use it as an artistic medium to share and showcase the lake's beauty and diversity.  I became serious about photography about ten years ago focusing mainly on weddings and portraits. I am now very excited to use the skills I have acquired to photograph this majestic area that has awakened in me the same wonder I once experienced as a child.

The world as we know it is not a perfect place, but with each image I make I hope to reveal what is perfect about its design. I choose to create images that portray a perfect world that does exist if we choose to see it but is often overlooked or crowded out by so many negative images.   Edgar Degas said 'Art is not what you seebut what you make others see.'  Yes, I am keenly aware that there is much sadness in this world and in nature, but there is also overwhelming joy. It is up to us to respect and protect what has sustained us for so long.  I am fortunate to have the opportunity to capture this environment while along the way meeting so many wonderful people.

Thank you for visiting! I hope you enjoy your time on the site and are inspired by what you see.
